Valentine’s Day Weekend 2022 February 10 – 13, 2022

TESTIMONIAL:

“It was an amazing weekend and I don’t think we could possibly have seen three better shows – they were spectacular and of such terrific variety. They were all beyond my wildest dreams and a memory for a lifetime. The welcome dinner was delicious, lots of very nice people. The walking tour was incredible and we all did well! Lunch at Sardi’s was also delicious and meeting the actors was so enjoyable. Also the chat back was beyond our expectations.

The car service was really great – both drivers were terrific. Please know I’m sending hugs to our hosts – thank you!!”

— Joan K. – Valentine’s Day Weekend Guest

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION:

Broadway Across America is pleased to extend this invitation to join us Valentine’s weekend for an unforgettable Broadway excursion featuring an exclusive insider’s experience highlighted by Six, the hot new musical import from London’s West End, Company co-starring Tony ® Award winning actresses Patti LuPone and Katrina Lenk and choices of other new musicals Mrs. Doubtfire, Flying Over Sunset and Diana the Musical.

Treat your special someone to a Valentine’s Day getaway – of course, couples, singles, friends and family are always welcome with our groups!

With our theatre excursions, our patrons have come to expect an elegant level of service and precise attention to detail. Your trip begins with flights from your home airport to one of three major New York airports where one of our drivers will meet you. From there its door-to-door service by luxury sedan to the 4-diamond accommodations of the Intercontinental New York Times Square, a distinctive property located in the heart of midtown.

After dining with your fellow travelers at our welcome dinner, your first performance is Company, the iconic musical which arrives in late 2021 with a few plot twists on the well-known original. The legendary Patti LuPone, a 2-time Tony ® Best Actress winner, teams with the rising star Katrina Lenk who was named best actress for her lead role in The Band’s Visit.

Following an intimate Q & A and exquisite lunch at Sardi’s, Friday evening offers a compelling choice of Mrs. Doubtfire with Tony ® nominee Rob McClure (Charlie Chaplin) doing his best impression of Robin Williams’ iconic film role and Diana the Musical and its story of one of the most beloved women of modern times.

Finally, your Saturday sets up your choice between the Six wives of Henry VIII as they take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an exuberant celebration of 21st century girl power or the clever trip back in time of Flying Over Sunset at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater. Note: the Vivian Beaumont Theatre is the only Broadway Theatre that is not a casual stroll from the hotel. Most guests will pair it with dinner plans before or after the show and take a short cab or Uber ride to get there.

So come and join us this February and we will help you make some unforgettable memories along the way. With a projected capacity of 20 to 24 guests, this Broadway Across America is expected to fill quickly.

Show Overviews:

Flying Over Sunset

Set in the 1950s, Flying Over Sunset is a work of fiction inspired by the lives of three extraordinary and accomplished people—playwright, diplomat and congresswoman Clare Booth Luce; film legend Cary Grant; and writer Aldous Huxley—each of whom in real life experimented with the drug LSD. At a crossroads in their lives the three come together, and under the influence of the drug, take a trip and confront the mysteries of their lives and their world.

Six

The Olivier Award-nominated hit musical is headed to Broadway! Six centers on the six ex-wives of King Henry VIII, who headline an electrifying pop-concert spectacle—flipping the narrative on the one-sided story from our history books.
Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived.
From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an exuberant celebration of 21st century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over. The Evening Standard hails SIX as “the most uplifting new British musical I have ever had the privilege to watch.”

Company

The quintessential musical comedy about the search for love and cocktails in the Big Apple is turned on its head in Marianne Elliott’s revelatory staging, in which musical theater’s most iconic bachelor becomes a bachelorette. At Bobbie’s 35th birthday party, all her friends are wondering why isn’t she married? Why can’t she find the right man? And, why can’t she settle down and have a family? This whip smart musical, given a game-changing makeover for a modern-day Manhattan, features some of Sondheim’s best loved songs, including “Company,” “You Could Drive a Person Crazy,” “The Ladies Who Lunch,” “Side by Side,” and the iconic “Being Alive.”

Diana The Musical

Diana the Musical tells the story of one of the most beloved women of modern times. Engaged to a prince she barely knows,19-year-old Diana Spencer is thrust onto the world stage and, overnight, becomes the most famous woman in the world. As she struggles to navigate her way within the rigid structure of the royal family, Princess Diana finds herself trapped in a loveless marriage, eventually finding her voice by devoting herself to those in need. Forced to endure a media spotlight brighter than the world has ever known, Princess Diana defies all expectations to emerge as her own woman and create a legacy that will endure forever.

Written by Tony winners Joe DiPietro and David Bryan, with direction by Tony winner Christopher Ashley, choreography by Olivier Award winner Kelly Devine and musical supervision and arrangements by Olivier Award winner Ian Eisendrath, Diana the Musical celebrates the life of Princess Diana and the light of her legacy that continues to shine across the world.

Mrs. Doubtfire
Helloooooooo! Mrs. Doubtfire is a musical now, poppets, and she’s here to make everything better! Based upon the beloved 1993 Twentieth Century Fox Motion Picture, Mrs. Doubtfire features a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, (the Tony Award®-nominated team behind Something Rotten!), direction by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!), choreography by Lorin Latarro (Waitress), and music supervision by Ethan Popp (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical).

Daniel Hillard, a struggling, out-of-work actor, will do anything for his kids. After losing custody in a messy divorce, he disguises himself as Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives. As his new persona begins to take on a life of her own, Mrs. Doubtfire teaches Daniel more than he bargained for about how to be a father. A hysterical and heartfelt story about holding onto your loved ones against all odds, Mrs. Doubtfire is the next big musical comedy for families — of all kinds.
